Islamabad (Pakistan): Pakistan on Tuesday opened the Torkham border crossing with his neighbors Afghanistan, to allow pedestrian movements.
Earlier on Monday, Torkham’s border was closed by the Taliban, after Islamabad rejected the request of Afghan citizens to enter Pakistan.
Hundreds of people have gathered at Torkham’s border crossing the day to enter Pakistan after rumors spread among the citizens of Afghanistan who had been opened by Pakistan for them.
According to Deputy Commissioner of the Khyber District Mansoor Arshad, the border has been reopened for citizens from both countries to return to their respective countries, report TRIBUNE EXPRESS.
Trade activities have functions between Pakistan and Afghanistan smoothly.
More than 30,000 Afghan citizens have returned to their country through the Torkham border and more than 3,000 Pakistani citizens have returned to Pakistan after the Taliban took over Afghanistan on August 15, reported the Tribune Express.
