Islamabad: Given the increase in the omicron variant of Covid-19, Pakistan now faces the fifth wave of Coronavirus, and cases can peak at the end of January or early February, local media reported quoting health experts.
According to TV channels, Islamabad on Friday reported 34 new cases of omicron variants.
At least 66 of the total cases have been reported from Islamabad so far.
On Thursday, eleven single family members were tested positive Omicron variants in Karachi.
They are infected with Omicron variants from Lahore.
The East Karachi Deputy Commission on Friday issued a notification to impose intelligent and micro-smart locking in a certain area of Gulshan-e-Iqbal Block-7 for two weeks, channels report.
Furthermore, reported that under the locking order, the authorities have limited the free movement of people living in the area, all businesses except shops that sell food and medicines have been closed, public transportation has been blocked, and rising tracing is no longer allowed.
Previously, on Friday, the National Command and the Operations Center (NCOC) told that Pakistan reported 515 new Covid-19 cases and six new deaths.
