Letter: The non-good dispute erupted in City’s letter, famous for non-vegetarian dishes that hit his lips, after the right-wing group on Monday targeted a leading restaurant to hold a Pakistani food festival.
The food festival was called in the end of the protest by members of the Bajrang Dal and Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) on the use of the word ‘Pakistan’ by the restaurant owner.
Members of the two right-wing organizations on Monday dropped hoarding announcing food festivals from the building complex terrace where the restaurant was located and then burned in the parking area of the building.
They also filed a complaint to Khatodara police demanding action against restaurant owners.
The stockpiling that announced the food festival was installed in the restaurant building complex on Saturday and it became a viral on social media on Sunday triggering protest by members of the Bajrag Dal and VHP on Monday.
“No one objected to the use of Chinese words in food even because neighboring countries create problems for India on the border,” said the owner of the Sandeep Dawar restaurant.
“Food festivals have nothing to do with religion, it is only to showcase authentic Pakistani food, which is basically a preparation for Mughlai,” he added.
However, after protests, a special food festival menu with plates such as Multani Dhingri, Peshawari Dal, Lahori fish, Karachi Murgh Karahi to mention the few who had been revealed.
“Almost all Pakistani dishes are popular in India and are available regularly.
We are an attempt to notify customers about it,” said Dawar to Toi.
“If the protesters have just called and told us to remove hoarding, we will do that.
There’s no need for all this,” he added.
South Gujarat is responsible for the deviprasad Bajrang Dal Dube, “If they want to do business in India, they cannot use Pakistani’s name here.
We have sent a written complaint to the police as well.” Khatodara Police Station officially confirmed the receipt of complaints against restaurants by Bajrang Dal.
Police officials said that there were no complaints against protesters by restaurant owners now.
