Chaman, Pakistan: Pakistani guards used Thursday’s tear gas to dissolve hundreds of people who tried to violate the border who crossed to Afghanistan, a day after the Taliban confiscated the control of the Afghanistan, officials said.
“This morning a mass of around 400 naughty commuters tried to cross the gate by force.
They threw stones, which imposed us to use tear gas,” said a security official at the Southwest Chaman border, who asked not to be named.
“We have to charge a stick because people start …” said the second border official, who also did not want to be named.
Jumadad Khan, a senior government official in Chaman, said the situation is now “controlled”.
The Taliban captured the strategic border crossing of the Spin Boldak district on the border with Pakistan on Wednesday, continuing the sweeping increase made because foreign forces increased their withdrawal from Afghanistan.
The intersection provides direct access to Pakistan Balochistan Province – where Top Taliban leadership is based on decades – along with unknown number of reserve fighters who regularly enter Afghanistan to help increase their rankings.
