New Delhi: Hospital in Pakistan Punjab, Sindh and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province refused to take more patients with dengue viruses because they benefit from beds, with cases soaring throughout the country, Reported Geo TV reported.
The beds provided for coronavirus patients at Punjab hospital were used to treat dengue virus patients, according to a report in international news.
The large anti-virus campaign has been launched in Islamabad to handle a very high level of case reported in the city.
Meanwhile, the Punjab government has declared medical emergency in public health facilities in Lahore because of the increasing number of dengue cases.
The decision was made in a meeting chaired by the Minister of Health Punjab Yasmeen Rashid, who saw a challenge to prevent rapid breeding mosquitoes in the province and expressed concern for the possibility of damage to the dengue situation in the coming weeks.
The Provincial Ministry of Health also instructs all doctors during leave to return to their respective medical facilities to deal with the increasing number of bloody fever cases.
“The recent rain spell coupled with moisture and a lot of construction work in some of Lahore’s top environment, it has provided a breeding place for dengue fever that has swallowed many cities and adjacent areas,” said Secretary of Punjab Imran Sikandar Baloch.
He stated that the conducive climate conditions for the spread of disease would likely continue until the end of the year.
