Islamabad: Pakistan National flag operator on Monday runs its first commercial flight to Kabul since the Afghan Taliban takeover in mid-August.
Flight Pakar International Airline (PIA) – PK 6429 – take foreign journalists to Kabul and return with the World Bank team and international media organizations, Radio Pakistan reported.
This is the first international passenger flight since the Taliban took over the Capital of Afghanistan last month and announced a temporary government of hardline.
In a statement, the Chief Executive of Pia Air Marshal Arshad Malik said the purpose of the flight was to promote good intentions between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
He said the operation of this flight was very important for PIA and the whole world.
He also expressed hope that flight operations would be fully restored.
Kabul Airport is not fully operational for international flights, Chartered of Qatar Airlines flights have flown out of hundreds of us, Germany, Afghanistan, and other citizens from the airport last week.
The airport has also received international flights that bring humanitarian assistance and domestic flights have been continued since the beginning of September, news of Khaama Afghanistan reported.
