Islamabad: Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday called the international community to help Afghanistan reach peace after decades of the country’s chaos suffered.
“The world must try our best to bring peace in Afghanistan.
There are conflicts there for 40 years.
Their people have faced such difficulties.
It is time for the world to help Afghanistan reach peace,” Khan said.
He was talking to a special ceremony held here to share the performance of three years of his administration.
Khan said that three years ago the Pakistani economy would collapse but the situation was saved because of the support of three friendly countries.
“The last three years are very difficult …
the economy is almost collapsed when we enter power and inherit the current account deficit of $ 20 billion,” Khan said.
“If Saudi Arabia, China and the UAE do not help us at the time, the rupee will decline further and cause us some real damage,” he said.
Khan continued to add that through hard work and dedication after the government got power, the state had been placed on the road to progress and the current transaction deficit was reduced to USD 1.8 billion.
“Our foreign currency reserves are USD 16.4 billion when we assume power and today they are at USD 27 billion.
Our tax collection is Rs 3,800 billion three years ago and now has reached Rs 4,700 billion,” he said.
Khan also launched a performance report called the 2018-21 report that was compiled by the Ministry of Information.
Document 251 The page describes the achievement of 44 public bodies through infographics and relevant facts.
In his speech, Khan said the world economic forum had praised Pakistan for handling Covid-19, and economists recognized Pakistan because it became one of the three countries that effectively handled Coronavirus.
Khan also mentioned tensions with India after a Pulwama terror attack.
“I appreciate our army and air force.
When they (Indian fighter jets) come to our territory and launch attacks, we realize our troops,” he said.
Khan said corruption is a big problem for developing countries, including Pakistan, because billions of dollars are sucked into rich countries by corrupt mafia that rule poor countries.
