Ranchi: Pakur occupies the top of the charts between all 24 state districts for the 2019-20 financial year in terms of providing efficient health care with six facilities pocketing the Kayakalp award, sponsored by the health welfare and family welfare.
Hazaribag and Ramgarh are declared a joint winner for 2020-21.
On Thursday, the Minister of Health of Banna Gupta handed over award to representatives of the Health Service Unit at the Institute of Public Health Namkum.
Kayakalp award is given every year.
However, the award could not be given by 2020 due to Covid-19 pandemic.
During 2021 ceremonies, awards for 2020 were also distributed.
Awards, which are distributed for four different fields – Enhancing cleanliness, sanitation, infection control and creating sustainable practices related to increased hygiene in public health care facilities – bring cash prizes of 50 lakh rs for winners in the district hospital category, RS 15 Lakh For public health centers, RS 2 Lakh for Primary Health Center (PHC) and RS 1 Lakh for HSC Sub-Center (HSC).
In accordance with the provisions, 25% of the total awards are distributed among staff as a token award while the remaining 75% is used to add services and infrastructure of health care winning facilities.
Of the 65 awards given on Thursday, 29 for 2019-20 and the remaining 36 were for financial years 2020-21.
Overcoming the meeting, Gupta said he would write to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who asked him to increase cash prizes.
