Palghar: Five people were ordered for allegedly stealing electricity worth 4.93 crore at Vasai in Palghar district, a MSEDCL official said on Sunday.
The electricity distribution company of Maharashtra Limited Pro Vijay Dudbhate said a case was registered at the Virar Police Station on Saturday against four Directors of the Ice Factory and one person who had helped regulate the mechanism of electricity theft.
“On October 30, the MSEDCL team conducted a surprise inspection in place and found the remote control and other gadgets used to damage power consumption readings.
In 59 months, the company has used 27,84,364 additional power units worth Rs 4, 93.98,460,” said The official.
A virus police office official said there was no arrest made in this case so far.
