Palghar: 7 was held for kidnapping, extortion in Bhayander

Palghar: Seven people, including a police officer and a journalist, has been arrested from Bhayander for allegedly kidnapping two people and extorting money from them at Gu Toris, an official said on Sunday.
Two other people desired in the case and attempt to arrest them, said a police officer Navghar.
“A businessman and his friend was kidnapped on August 14 by four men and was taken to an isolated area by car.
The defendant showed the duo of firearms and told them the Navi Mumbai police had an order to kill them in a meeting.
The defendant demanded Rs 12 lakh to let them Go, “he said.
They took Rs 50,000 from the duo and pendants worth Rs 15,000, but fled when a friend of the victim came there with a ransom, assuming that this person was a police officer, he added.
Cases in the provisions of IPC and ARM acted registered and seven people were arrested on Friday, official information.
