PALGHAR: The police have registered a case against a person and manages a private company for allegedly reaching for tribal land in Palghar Maharashtra Regency, an official said on Wednesday.
The person accused of allegedly bought a plot of land from tribes in Vijayypur and only paid Rs 1.5 lakh with a total of 10 lakh Rs, officials from the Wada Police Station.
The defendant transferred the plot in his wife’s name and then allegedly sold it to a private company, which began construction in the land, he said.
Based on tribal complaints, the police on Tuesday registered fir against people who bought land from him and the company under the relevant parts of the Indian criminal code and scheduled castles and scheduled tribes (prevention of cruelty).
No arrest has been made so far, the official said.
