PALGHAR: A four-year-old boy died and seven others ill after consuming water from Borewell left in a village in Wada Taluka from Palghar Maharashtra Regency, an official said on Wednesday.
The victims had consumed water from Borewell left behind in Kondlegaon from Jambul on, after the boy died on his way to a rural hospital on Monday, the official Siad Health.
According to health officials, polluted water consumption causes diarrhea, because the boy dies and the other is sick.
This village has reported a similar case for the past four days, stated.
District Health Officers (DHO) Dr.
Dayanand Suryavanshi conducted inspections in the village and directed authorities to disinfect all Borewell, the surrounding area and water source.
Direct steps have begun and the Ministry of Health is very monitoring the patient, the DHO said, adding that the officials and staff found responsible for negligence will face action.
