Palphar: A Sarpanch village and the other two were arrested at Vikramgad Tehsil from Palghar Maharashtra Regency for allegedly taking bribes of Rs 13,000 from the contractor to release payments for the concrete work of the road he had done at the local level, ACB said on Thursday.
The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) said it captured the trio on Wednesday and violations against them registered at the Vikramgad police station in this district.
The complainant in this case is a Panchayat Samiti member from the Kev Grampanchayat Group in Vikramgad.
He received a concrete job in the area carried out since the approved contractor, said the anti-graft body in the release.
The total number of bills is the Tiga Lakh Hospital, where RS 2.60 lakh has been paid to the contractor and RS 40,000 must be paid to him, he said.
The contractor filed a bill for the number of balances to Pancayat Samiti.
But the trio of the defendant made Rs 15,000 request to release the remaining money, he said.
Panchayat members then filed a complaint with ACB officials, who put traps in the income office in the Manor on Wednesday and arrested the trio who received the number of Rs 13,000 from the contractor, ACB stated.
Those who were arrested were identified as Kev’s Sarpanch Prema Nathu Raile (33), Gramsevak Bupendra Abaji Sambre (44), and members of Panchayat Sachin Kaluram Bombe (23).
