Panama City: Two men were given a long prison post for Wednesday to kill seven young people in 2020, bloodshed which surprised this country where mass killings were rare.
The prosecutor said Reynaldo Cuadra McBean was sentenced to 50 years and Jean Carlos Hernandez was punished to serve 36 years because of their beliefs about murder, kidnapping, robbery and other charges.
The court found them guilty on December 15.
Authorities never offered a murder motive on July 17, 2020.
Relatives found the body of four women and three men aged 17 and 22 near Lake Gatun after they did not do it back from sightseeing.
The young men were among 13 who went to the lake that day.
Five bodies found in the military bunkers left behind may come from when we control the panama canal.
The investigator said the bodies made a sign of a bullet.
