Patna: The State Election Commission (SEC) has banned the use of places of worship for the upcoming election of Pancrayat polls.
At the same time, candidates will not be allowed to use any political party flag for campaigning.
Guidelines issued by the upcoming election for the upcoming election to the Pancayati Institution Raj said such practice would be interpreted as a violation of the model of the behavior model and inviting appropriate action.
Pancrayat polls in the state are not contested at the party line.
The SEC has also asked the contestants to tell the authorities concerned about road games carried out by artists who supported candidates.
“Staging Dharna or shouting slogans in front of the candidates’ houses after a statement against their opponents in Fray will also be under the scope of violations of the model behavior model,” said a senior SEC officer.
Meanwhile, the SEC has asked all DM to complete the first-level inspection of EVMS on August 20 and improve technical barriers, if any.
More than 1.20 lakh EVMS will be needed for selection which is likely to be held in 10 phases.
In each phase, voting will be held at 15,000 polling booths under two blocks in each district.
A senior officer said the proposal would be sent to the Raj Pancayati department to announce the schedule for the poll.
The department will announce the same thing after getting a nod of the country cabinet.
The election schedule for choosing more than 2.59 Lakh representatives is likely to be announced at the end of August.
Election on two gram Kuchhary – Panch and Sarpanch – will be done by ballots.
EVMS will be used to choose representatives on four Mukhiya posts, members of the ward, members of Panchayat Samiti and members of the district council.
