Patna: The State Election Commission on Tuesday told Pancrayat elections at Bihar.
Commissioner of the State Election (SEC) Deepak Prasad said the election would be held in 11 phases from September 24 to December 12 for Mukhiya, members of the environment, members of Panchayat Samiti, members of Zila Parishad, Sarpanchad.
By notification of polls schedules, the code of ethics model has been valid with direct effects.
As a result, all development work in Pancayat will remain suspended until the declaration of the results of the poll.
However, it will not have an impact on the work carried out under ‘Nal Jal Yojana’ state government.
SEC said phase-wise voting would take place on September 24, September 29, October 8, 24 October 24, November 15, November 24, November 24, 8 November 8 and 12 December 8 and December 12 and December 12.
He said the poll in the 20 districts affected by the flood will be held in the last phase on December 12.
Vote counting will take place within 48 hours of voting in each phase.

For the first time, an electronic voting machine (EVMS) will be used in the election of Panchayat, he revealed.
While EVMs will be used to choose Mukhiya, members of Panchayat Samiti, members of the environment and members of Zila Parishad, the election for Pos Gram Kutchery Sarpanch and the pan will be carried out through ballots.
SEC said the process of submitting a nomination paper will begin on Wednesday starting at 11am to 4pm.
The contestants must comply with SEC guidelines strictly when submitting a paper.

About 1 Lakh security personnel will be deployed to the poll booth to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections in each phase.
Similarly, more than 90,000 polling personnel will be pressed into services in each polling phase.
He said the state had received 2.51 lakh EVM on the requirements of 2.56 lakh.
About 10% of EVMs have been saved as backups.
Likewise, 2 Lakh’s voice boxes will be used for election to Sarpanch and Panch posts.
District Judges have been asked to ensure used EVMS transportation to other districts after elections in each phase.
