Gurgaon: Government schools in Haryana have seen a 25% increase in the overall registration in the 2021-22 academic session, data sourced from the Ministry of Education shows.
This, officials said, is the highest registration in government schools in the past five years – reflection of the pandemic effect and locking on the education system that forces many private schools to be closed and parents who lose their livelihoods of children from their institutions they cannot afford again.
While 20 Lakh students have taken revenues in government schools in the last academic year, the number increases to 25 lakh this time.
When registration began in July this year, the Ministry of Education boasts more than 2 new reception and projecting that the number will increase over the next few months because reception is still open.
“So far, this is one of the best registration figures in the state in the past five years.
Our overall registration has crossed the value of 25 lakh and this is an extraordinary achievement,” Mahavir Singh, Secretary of the Head of the Ministry of Education.
Officials believe that there is no more change in registration figures because revenues for grade 9 to 12 are closed and for grade 1 to 8 may not see a significant increase because private schools are allowed to return.
Among the 22 regencies, the maximum reception was recorded in Noah, Hisar, Sirsa, Karnal, and Gurgaon.
In Noah, the registration figures jumped around 18% compared to 2020-21 and more than 31% since the pre-locking period.
In 2019, there were around 1.8 lakh students in government schools in this district, which increased to 2 lakhs in 2020 and 2.3 lakh this year.
In Hisar, the school has recorded the highest registration figures.
While around 1.6 students were registered in the 2020-21 academic session, the academic year currently has more than 1.7 students.
Gurgaon is in fifth place in the overall registration.
Acceptance to government schools in the district rose from 1.2 lakh students in 2020 to around 1.5 lakh this time, an increase of 20%.
The last academic year has seen many appeals from parents who are looking for a full part or neglect.
Most of these people lose their jobs and question why they must continue to pay fees when classes are detained online.
Schools, however, argue that they need money to continue to pay fees to the teacher and to maintain other operational costs.
Some cases were submitted in court.
The state government has allowed school to collect only tuition fees.
