Ghaziabad: 2 years after taking over the helm of this government at Ghaziabad, district magistrate Ajay Shankar Pandey was Friday moved to Jhansi because the divisional commissioner.
RK Singh, who has served as the Ghaziabad civil commissioner and is now the Moradabad DM, will require Pandey’s location.
The takeover of responsibilities is anticipated to occur over the weekend, so TOI has now learnt.
Initially from Ayodhya, RK Singh isn’t new to the city.
He combined as a PCS officer in 1994 and has been promoted to IAS at 2010.
Besides Ghaziabad, he has served as the vice-chairman of Hapur-Pilkhua Development Authority along with the Further CEO of this Yamuna Expressway Authority.
Singh has been published as Moradabad DM for the last four decades.
The dilemma of committing relaxations to city inhabitants in the lockdown and making sure that the town is about to confront a third Covid tide as forecast, will probably be of the highest priority to the new DM.
TOI tried talking to Singh a few days, but he was unavailable.
Pandey, a 2005-batch IAS officer, has been encouraged only two weeks ago.
Ever since that time, rumours finished his move had been also making the rounds.
The farmers’ protests and the next Covid wave led to some comparatively more remain from the district.
Pandey connected government support in 1989 as a PCS officer.
He functioned as the Ghaziabad civil commissioner in 2007 to 2009.
The 2 decades of Pandey’s tenure was mainly spent on battling the coronavirus.
Through the initial wave in 2020, Pandey started several initiatives to control the spread of this virus such as business schemes in large caseload regions in addition to neighborhood containment programmes.
Officials who worked closely together with Pandey stated he maintained a tight grasp on his juniors and has been a very difficult taskmaster.
But, Pandey’s management of this next wave this season came in for criticism by taxpayers, who believed that the government was lost during the summit of the next wave.
Adding to this understanding has been Pandey testing positive to Covid at the previous week of April, once the virus has been raging through Ghaziabad.
Pandey rejoined on May 16, when CM Yogi Adityanath visited town.
By that moment, the worst of all this tide had begun subsiding.
In his absence, state-appointed nodal officer Senthil Pandian C, GDA vice-chairman Krishna Karunesh and also Ghaziabad civil commissioner Mahendra Singh Tanwar took control of Covid management.
The 3 senior officials functioned in tandem and recognized the significant issues being faced by taxpayers — hospital beds feasibility, oxygen distribution into Covid hospitals and people recovering in house isolation, short source of Remdesivir and overcharging by ambulances.
Vinay Mittal, president of Kaushambi Apartments RWA, stated,”All infrastructure-related job which has been performed in Kaushambi, was performed via the court order.
The government didn’t do anything by itself.
Even through the next wave, the people had been left to float by themselves.
It appeared there wasn’t any administration working in the district whatsoever.” Alok Kumar, creator of the Federation of Association of Apartment Owners (FedAOA), stated,”Pandey’s tenure had restricted interactions with resident figures along with his conclusions were leaving hardly any scope for discussions.
Ghaziabad residents, such as people in different towns, faced a great deal of hardship during the next wave however, the government’s role was restricted and it required some time in taking decisions”
