Kathak Legend, Birju Maharaj, who has been diagnosed with kidney disease a few days ago and wore dialysis, died at his home on Sunday.
He is 83 years old.
Maharaj Ji, because he was known to be popular, said to play with his grandson when his health unexpectedly deteriorated, he required him to be rushed to the hospital, where he died of a heart attack.
The grandson, Swaransh Mishra, shared Malang news through posting on Instagram.

Also a talented classical and percussion singer Hindustan, Maharaj Ji is the son of Acchan Maharaj.
His uncle is Shambhu Maharaj and the famous Lacchu Maharaj.
He was the highest Civil Honorary Recipient of the two countries, Padma Vibhushan.
