Nagpur: The state government on Thursday is the three sub-committees of the State Council for wildlife members (SBWL) to explore the possibility of declaring 14 conservation reserves (CRS) as a holy place.
14 CRS includes Munia in Nagpur and Pursuarka in the Gadchiroli district.
Conservation reserves are uninhabited areas that are fully owned by the government but are used for subsistence by the community and community areas, while holy places are exclusively intended for wildlife preservation.
The decision was taken by the head of the Minister of Uddhav Thackeray, who was also the Chair of the SBWL, at a meeting of 16 council held on December 4, 2020.
Reserve 96 km Munia had been carved from the range of Umred and Butibori forests.
It was between the 11 CRS stated on December 4, 2020.
Wildlife Conservationists Pressurla Bhamburkar and Gadchiroli Wildlife Wardden Warden Uday Patel had been welcomed moving and said there should be no second thought to declare a pool.
The 181SQ area KM was declared a conservation reserve on January 8, 2013, for the presence of a genetically pure type of wild buffalo.
On the advice for Kishor Rithe at the SWBL meeting in October 2016, it was agreed to tell Kolamaya as a refuge.
However, even after five years, the area has not been increased as a shelter.
Each committee will be led by each CCF and DYMF will be a member secretary.
APCCFS (wildlife) will be the coordinator.
The committee includes members of the board of experts.
The Committee includes Kishor Rithe, Poonam Dhanwatey, Kundan Hate, Bandu Dhotre and DYCF Satoncha as a member.
Other CRS includes Bhorgad, Ajnelgi, Muktai-Bhavani, Toranmal (Nashik) and Tilari, Jorjhli, Panalghad, Chandgad, Vishalgad, Amboli-Dodaamarg and Mayani.
The Committee will study the rights of local communities in this forest area, identify strength and if the sanctuary is stated how it will affect the livelihoods of the local population and what alternatives can be done.
It will also find out whether the village relocation is needed and with the cost.
