Panel Hry Women did not get a ‘love jihad’ in more than 3 years

Chandigarh: When the Haryana Government led by BJP has indicated that it is considering introducing the anti-love-jihad ‘law in the state, the information sourced RTI has revealed that the State Commission Haryana for women did not receive complaints related to’ love-jihad ‘In more than three years.
The commission, who looked into the incidence of harassment, atrocity and violence against women in the state, has explained that it has no information about the definition of love-jihad ‘.
The Commission also stated that there were no recommendations to the state government over the problem of ‘love-jihad’.
“There is no case about this, it has been received in this office from Haryana Regency, because there are no steps initiated by the Commission,” according to the information provided by the Commission under RTI.
The details were given to PP Kapoor activists based in Panipat under the RTI Act on July 13, 2021.
In the RTI application it was submitted on November 13, 2020, Kapoor was looking for details of the total complaints of ‘Love Jihad’, the definition.
And recommendations made by the Commission to the state government relating to it.
Most of the complaints turned out to be wrong: the Policy Commission said it could not provide information in the period specified because of the extraordinary situation that occurred due to Covid-19 pandemic.
Previously in March, police Haryana had provided some RTI information about the four cases of ‘love-jihad’ which had been reported in six countries in the past three years.
In December 2020, a case of kidnapping a Hindu girl by a Muslim boy registered at the Punhana police station in Nuh Regency in the MeRat area was canceled after being investigated.
Another case registered by Ambala Polda on May 18, 2018, related to ‘Love Jihad’ caused the release of the defendant in court.
The case listed by Ambala Police on October 16, 2019, was also found wrong during a police investigation.
Likewise, a case registered at the Samalkha police station in Panipat District on July 19, 2019, was waiting before the trial court.
At a query about the definition of ‘love jihad’, the Yamunanagar district police suggested to the applicant that such a definition is available on the internet.
In November 2020, Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar has hinted that the state could bring laws against love-jihad ‘after the same law was introduced by the government.
