Patna: These committees were formed by the Minister of Education and the Chairperson of the Bihar State Higher Education Board (BSHEC), Vijay Kumar Choudhary, has emerged with several recommendations that will ensure the development of all-round higher education in the state.
Committees, in reports while they were submitted to the Minister on Thursday, had suggested better interactions of universities with the industry, the introduction of a flexible and innovative curriculum, and the creation of the state-level accreditation board.
The academic reform panel, led by Representatives of Chancellor (VC) Patna University (VC) G K Chaudhary, recommends that all universities in the state must have representatives from industries and employment institutions on the Study Council to make their siblings more suitable.
Pressure on the need to introduce a Credit-Based System (CBC) and Semester for all courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels, the committee suggests that the policy of removing competent and quality teachers after their retirement must be reintroduced.
In addition, the committee also begged to introduce more career-oriented courses based on local requirements.
The NAAC accreditation committee, led by Lalit Narayan Mithila University Pro-VC Dolly Sinha, recommends the creation of the state-level accreditation board.
It is also said that the government must sanction to the development grants to universities based on their NAAC reports and values.
The next committee suggests that the institution continues to avoid NAAC’s assessment must be punished.
Another panel, led by Tilka Manjhi Bhagalpur University’s VC Neelima Gupta, recommends the application of multi-entry and multi-out systems and more institutional autonomy.
It also recommends that the formulation of knitted strategies is good for the development and change and the paradigm shifts from class to online teaching.
The fourth committee on quality assurance, headed by VC Rajendra Prasad University of Magadh, begged the formation of the Bihar research foundation to accelerate the rate of scientific research at higher education institutions.
Deputy Chairperson of BSHEC, Kameshwar Jha, told this newspaper that the committee was expected to submit their final report in October after being depicted with their interim findings.
“The state government is committed to implementing all these valuable findings to improve higher education standards,” he added.
