Jaipur: The Demand Committee has been formed to look into the accusation of not following the UGC norm during the recent promotion at Rajasthan University.
A few days ago, the University Grant Commission has recognized the complaints made by members of the Syndicate of Ram Lakhan Meena from not following the norm in providing promotions to faculty members.
In accordance with complaints, the university has provided promotions to retire faculty members or at university salaries between 2012-20.
This is said to oppose UGC norms, according to complaints.
The Five Member Committee led by Secretary, Higher Education, N.L.Meena, was formed on Thursday.
Committee members including Prof.
Ibtrivedi, VC, Tribal Banswara University, Shyamlal, former VC University of Jaynarayan Vyas, Jodhpur, Prof.
Ghanshyam Singh, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, Gopu Kumar, Joint Secretary, UGC, New Delhi, and Joint Secretary of Administration, Finance, Jaipur.
The Committee must complete an investigation within 15 days.
According to estimates, every year Rajasthan University gets more than Rs 40 Crore as a grant of deer.
If this grant is stopped, it will be a heavy blow to the University Administration.
