Panel to monitor toxicity in 2 rivers

Noida: The Gautam Government Budh Nagar has rebuilt the special panel of experts to see the problem of pollution, encroachment and geographical demarcation of two Ganga – Yamuna and Hindon tributaries – who pass through the city.
Hindon joined Yamuna in the district and Yamuna joined Ganga in Allahabad.
The two rivers were recognized as the main polluters for Ganga.
The monitoring panel will report its observations on pollution and other violations and violations to the Ganges Monitoring Committee from time to time.
The national mission for net ganga where the Ganga monitoring committee is regulated, falls under the Ministry of Jal Shakti or the Department of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation.
The first meeting of the sorry committee was held on Tuesday.
Suhas Ly District Judge is the chairman of the committee who also has PK District Forest officers Srivastava, President Director of the National Heritage Division, Intach, Manu Bhatnagar, and Akash Environmental Lawyer Vashishtha as a member.
Bhatnagar told Tii, “The National Mission for Clean Ganga is now present in 260 districts in which there are basin ganga along the main rivers and river children.
Gautam Budh Nagar is one of these districts.
The previous committee established a panel only in the area The area where Ganga is present, but now has included all districts where the tributaries are present.
“Srivastava said that the committee had been reconstructed and experts had been speeding up to speed up the cleaning process and correct errors.
“The Committee will meet from time to time and send regular reports to the Ganges Monitoring Committee,” he added.
Vashhistha said that the three main areas that need to be monitored are the level of water pollution, encroachment and release waste and waste into the river.
“Also, we will see the demarcation of the floodland,” he said.
The Hindon River and Yamuna have a high toxic content.
Hindon passed several industrial belts while stimulating the Uttar Pradesh district and finally entered Gautam Budh Nagar with a high pollutant burden.
“The Uttar Pradesh pollution control board will also have a key role to be played in quality control of two rivers,” added Vashishhtha.
