Panel to recommend industrial law reform

Thiruvananthapuram: The government has appointed a three-member committee to submit recommendations for excessive regulatory reforms and regulations in the Industrial Law, said the State Minister of Industry on Friday.
Overcoming MediaTeka on the sidelines of interaction with industrialists, Rajeeve said the committee had been asked to submit his report in three months.
National University of Advanced Legal Studies (NULTS) Vice-Chancellor C C C Sunny will lead the Committee in which the former civil servants T Nandakumar and the Law Reform Commission Deputy Chairman K Sasidharan Nair will become a member.
“The Committee will review all rules and regulations that appear to be obsolete or not synchronous with modern times.
It will also provide recommendations to simplify the maintenance of various industrial registers by various government departments,” he said.
KSIDC will coordinate the function of the committee and the panel will hear industrialists and the public before completing the report, said Rajeeve.
The Minister of Industry held a series of interactive sessions with industrial representatives, following allegations by the KETIX group against hostility moored to investors and industrialists in the state.
According to the minister, most government and public officials do not know the rules and regulations of the government approved by the government regarding the industrial sector.
As a result of this, some services are delayed unnecessaryly.
Therefore, the government will conduct a program to create awareness among officials and the public, said Rajeeve.
“The government has plans to draw general guidelines for helping industrial plantations functioning with more autonomy.
The bill on the mechanism for recovering complaints of the law will soon be introduced in the Assembly,” he added.
