Panic in Bay of Bengal to Grow into Re storm by Monday: IMD

NEW DELHI: Even a low-pressure place from the Bay of Bengal has turned to a depression which could cross over the West Bengal along with Odisha coasts on May 26 as a”very severe cyclonic storm”, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said on Sunday. The depression is expected to intensify to a cyclonic storm,”Yaas”, by Monday, it included. “It (the depression) is extremely likely to proceed north-northwestwards and intensify to a cyclonic storm by 24th May dawn and into a really severe cyclonic storm through the following 24 hours. It might continue to proceed north-northwestwards, intensify further and attain Northwest Bay of Bengal nearby West Bengal and north west Odisha coasts from 26th May dawn,” that the Cyclone Warning Division of the IMD stated. “it’s extremely likely to cross north west Odisha-West Bengal involving the Paradip and Sagar islands through day of 26th May as a very severe cyclonic storm,” it added.
