Mumbai: The Bombay High Court on Tuesday was told that Deputy Mayor Panvel Jagdish Gaikwad had issued a “very serious threat”, including one of the new airports in Navi Mumbai if it was not called PWP Patil.
A bench led by the Chairman of Judge Datta Datta was urged by Advocate Filji Frederick, who filed a litigation of public interest to frame the airport naming policy, to hear this problem when comfortable.
Frederick said the center response was searched by a policy design status for airport naming.
“Meanwhile, the threat and a very serious statement had been made by the Deputy Mayor of Panvel Municipal Corporation,” he added.
The judges asked whether the airport was ready and how much work was left.
Frederick answered, “it seems 60% of the work is finished.
The threat by the Deputy Mayor is that the construction of three runways will be stopped and they will step into all airport combustion.
“He said the statement appeared on the press.
CJ said the bench would take out the problem the following month.
The HC website has told that CJ will lead on the Nagpur bench until the end of July.
