Bhubaneswar: The proposal for connecting the Dhamra paradip and port through the railway line has been suspended, East Coast Railway (Ecor) said in return on RTI’s request by the Population of the Jajpur District.
Ecor In his reply to the RTI application Satyaprakash Behuria stated that the proposal for par paradip that connects the railway and port of the Dhamra has been suspended after surveying engineering reconnaissance-traffic suggested that the nature is not underestimated and the potential of poor traffic.
Behuria said that Ecor answered that no detailed survey for a new railway has been made.
“There is a plan to connect the main port in this country.
I want to know about the proposal to connect Paradip with the Dhamra.
But the answer said the project was suspended,” he added.
Port Paradip in the Jagatsinghpur district has facilities to handle various loads with modern equipment, spare space and adequate storage.
Port identification capacity is 277 million metric tons per year.
Similar, Dhamra, one of the drafts of Indian ports, located in Bhadrak District.
It can accommodate super cape ships.
This is a port of all weather, multi-user and multi-cargo.
