Tokyo: Avani Lekhara shooter, who was the first gold medalist in India in a two-day paralympic match, failed to replicate his success when he fell in the 10m Air Rifle Ricker Sh1 qualifying round here on Wednesday.
SH1 (Rifle) allows individuals without interruption to the upper limbs but is a disruption to one of the lower limbs to compete.
Lekhara was not as usual because he finished disappointing 27 with a score of 629.7, crashing into the third round.
The other Indian Para-An shooters in the men’s event, Sidhartha Babu and Deepak Kumar witnessed terrible sightseeing, each completing 40 and 43 each with a score of 625.5 and 624.9 in the range of Asaka shooting.
Gold in this event was won by Natascha Hiltrop Germany, while silver and bronze was bagged by South Korean Park Jinho and Ukraine Iryna Schetnik.
Lekhara 19-year-old creates history in his debut game, won the Indian first paralympic medal in photographing with gold at R2 10M Air Rifle standing SH1.
Lekhara, who sustains a spinal cord injury in a car accident in 2012, has been completed with a total world record of 249.6, which is also a new paralympic record.
