Tokyo: Shuttler India Tarun Dhillon skipped a bronze medal after he faced defeat at the hands of Fredy Setiawan at the Singles SL4 event for Tokyo Paralympics on Sunday.
Setiawan defeated Tarun in a straight set 21-17, 21-11 to reach a bronze medal match in just 32 minutes.
Tarun started from a decent start and gave the neck-neck-neck battles before losing the first match to Setiawan 21-17.
Indonesians take the first game that struggles close to move closer to the bronze medal.
In the second game, Setiawan continued its good shape and lead earlier in the essay.
Shuttler Indonesia leads the second essay of 10-4 on a half sign.
Driving high trust, Setiawan stacked further pressure on Tarun to take the second game 21-11.
On Saturday, Shuttler Pramod Bhagat won a gold medal after defeating Daniel Bethell United Kingdom with 2-0 in Singles Singles SL3 – Final.
Fighting in court 1, Indians over the top seed flooded Daniel Bethell’s second seed in a straight set to 21-14 and 21-17 in 45 minutes.
This is the first Indian medal at Badminton in Tokyo Paralympics.
