Paralympics: Vinod Kumar Clinches Bronze in Discus Throw

Tokyo: Discus Thrower Vinod Kumar won a bronze medal on the F52 man with a record of Asia to give Indian third medals in Tokyo Paralympics here on Sunday.
The 41-year-old BSF man, whose father fought in the Indo-Pak War in 1971, produced the best throws of 19.91 million to complete the third behind Piotr Kosewicz (20.02 M) Poland and Velimir Sandor (19.98m) from Croatia.
He hurt his leg while practicing after joining BSF, falling from the cliff on Leh which made him ride to sleep for a decade where he lost his parents.
The F52 classification is for athletes with muscle appeal, limited movement range, limb deficiency or leg length differences, with athletes that compete in a sitting position.
This also applies to cervical injury, spinal cord injury, amputation, and functional disorders.
Both Bhavinaben Patel and Nishad Kumar had previously won each silver at the high jump tennis table of women 4 and Men T47 T47 on Sunday.
