Pouliai.roy Kolkata: The state government on Monday launched ‘Paray Shikshalaya’, community-based school efforts in an environment targeting elementary school students to class V to revive class education in the open.
The purpose of this program is to wean again most students who have left the formal education system in the past two years due to the closing of the school after a pandemic.
Launched an ambitious project on Monday, Minister of State Education Bratya Basu said more than 60 Lakh students from more than 65,000 elementary schools would learn from more than 2 lakh teachers.
This program will take place from February 7 and continue until the school is officially reopened.
Then on that day, the school education department sent notes to all DMS, urging them to take personal initiatives to monitor and support the program so that they reach all target children.
The Director of the Sarva Siksha Mission Project, Subhra Chakrabarti, has been made by the Nodal Officer of the Program.
While class IX to XII has had the opportunity to return sporadically to school since the Kuncian in March 2020, those in the lower class almost did not have a school.
Only a number of schools in urban areas have access to online teaching.
The state government earlier this month launched Helpline to connect students to VI to VIII with the teacher.
The initiative is called Banglar Siksha Durabhase.
The minister said the local government would be involved in providing assistance to the project.
That means the involvement of citizenship bodies such as Kolkata Municipal Corporation, Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation and various municipalities throughout the state and Panchayats in rural areas.
Civil bodies will help regulate the logistics needed to operate open classrooms where all Covid protocols will be maintained.
In November 2021, before the reopening class IX to XII, the Department of School Education has prepared an audio-visual presentation as part of the Awareness Program and circulating in all districts.
Presentations include Jingle and Speech Motivation by BASU and leading personalities such as Nobel Laureate Avijit Vinayak Banerjee to try and motivate students to continue their studies even though there are challenges.
