Parents accuse harassment by PVP schools exceeding costs

Mangaluru: Some parents recognize private schools here have alleged that school management harasses them for non-payment costs, and targets them to talk to institutions.
Private international schools in Adyar are now suspected of asking for parents, who previously protested schools, to pay overall costs.
School management allegedly told parents that their ward would not be allowed to use school bus services, and also threatened not to allow them to appear for inspection, if they failed to do it.

This year, the school asked us to pay the full cost, including the last academic year.

When Tii contacted the school manager, he maintained the school did not force anyone to pay for fees.
“We only collected 70% from last year and 85% of this year’s costs from parents, and have not stopped any children from appearing for the exam, even if they have not paid a fee,” he said.
DDPI Malleswamy warned that schools had no right to stop students from academic activities.
“A disadvantaged parents can approach our office and file a written complaint.
We will take the necessary actions in this matter,” he said.
