Parents don’t want to send children back to the classroom

Shrinivasa.mmysuuru: Even though schools in the district have continued offline classes from January 24 after a 12-day break because of the third wave of Covid, almost 20% to 30% of students studying in elite schools in Mysore still prefer online classes.
These schools run offline and online classes simultaneously according to student demand and parents.
According to several principals and teachers, the fear of Covid continues to stop parts of parents, especially from the upper middle class family, from sending their children to school.
“Many of these families have two children.
They don’t want to take risks with the health of their children.
So, they prefer online classes,” said a teacher from elite school.
“The presence was also awarded for online class.
So, parents are not much Disturbed.
The school asked the teachers to prepare a video class for these students, “he added.
According to Swaroopini KS, Secretary, Manasarowar Pushkarini Vidyashrama, attendance for offline classes is now around 65% to 70%.
“The rest of the students attend online classes,” he explained.
“Students love to attend offline classes.
But some parents still have worries about sending it for physical classes,” he said.
This trend is reported in many schools.
According to Santosh Kumar, mysuru district representatives from primary and secondary school management (KAMS), around 20% of students, especially those who study at the CBSE / ICSE affiliate school, are still attending online classes.
“In cheap schools, only offline classes offered and students attend them.
However, in elite schools, parents are still hesitant to send their children to physical classes,” he said.
“Every day, we collect reports from schools about presence, covid infections among teachers or students if there are etc.
There is a good response for offline classes in our school,” he said.
