Parking chaos back as reopened by the Chandigarh market

Chandigarh: With relaxation at Covid-19 Curbs, Chaos can be seen in paid parking lots throughout the city, especially in the main commercial area, which then leads to mismanagement parking.
Because locking has been appointed in almost all Chandigarh regions, people have started visiting the commercial area from morning to night and they can be seen struggling to enter and get out of the parking lot.
It is being observed that employees of paid parking lots are also in less amounts and they only issue a paid parking slip and no one can manage vehicles in lots, because haphazard parking has turned into routine affairs in almost all the commercial paid parking lots of many cities.
In addition, in some of the busiest paid parking spaces such as sector 8, 9, 17, 22, 26, 34, 35 and 43, in and out of the paid parking lot takes a very large time.
The old situation in the paid parking lot was before the pandemic period.
Resources in the Civic body authority have revealed that since the paid parking work has just begun in the city after the closing length of the commercial area, MC does not want to immediately wear a penalty on the parking contractor.
However, if things remain the same, they will be asked to improve the situation and the civil body parking branch will see this problem, they add.
The absence of smart features also leads to chaos for some expanded because some parking contractors have not installed smart features in Lot according to their terms and provisions.
Although the paid parking contractor had a few days ago claiming that they had installed most of the smart features in the paid parking lot, the city corporate technical team consisting of experts and technical officers held physical inspections and found that while some smart features were in place, many What is still lost after the contractor is asked to install this.
In the past too, the Department of Engineering has served notifications to parking contractors because they do not complete this lot with the smart features needed.
Chandigarh Municipal Corporation has auctioned two smart paid parking zones to paid parking contractors who qualify for more than Rs 10 Crore every year.
Therefore, paid parking is one of the most important resources of income for the Civic body authority.
Smart parking facilities include boom barriers and e-ticketing machines, among other features.
The source in the MC said the contractor’s request seemed original, but it was a general house that would make a last call on this problem.
Two zones, 89 parking lots there are two paid parking contractors and 89 parking lots divided among them.
Parking lots in southern and eastern sectors of the city consisting of sector 34, 26 and 20 have been stored under the parking zone-1 while Zone-II has parking in the northern part of the city consisting of sectors 17, 22, 8, 8, 8 and 9.
Zone-II is the toughest zone and because many new paid parking places have been added in this zone while giving tenders, the majority of paid parking lots are located in the main commercial area in addition to several in tourist areas and Shanti Kunj.
