Parsi Body Parsi in Gujarat HC: Order reserved

Ahmedabad: Gujarat High Court on Friday hearing the petition submitted by the Parsi Religious Agency and ordering demands on requests to allow them to dispose of those who die of their religious traditions and do not force them to cremate the body.
Parsi Panchayat’s letter has submitted a petition by saying central guidelines to throw the body in the case of Covid-19 death silent on the Zoroaster body disposal tradition and only recognize two disposal and cremation modes.
It was looking for direction to the authorities to allow the Parsis to follow the traditions they left the body in the silence tower, Dokhmenashini.
The court said a request was submitted at a late stage because the guidelines were released more than a year ago, and cases only have academic interests.
The Petitioner’s advisor, ASIM Pandya, proposed that there was no scientific data presented by the government to ban the Parsi community from conducting Dokhmenashini.
This center does not oppose local demand and authority claims that they only follow the guidelines.
The state government is silent about this problem.
Pandya also handed over that Parsis is a very small minority so that their religious disposal practices are not considered when preparing guidelines.
He argues that only a law that can stop people from practicing religious rituals and guidelines is not law.
Senior Advocate Percy Kavina, who was present at the hearing, interrupted that for 7-8 decades, the Parsi community had begun to bury the body in many places throughout India.
He said it was not anathema or ASUS females, if the body was buried.
For this, the Petitioners’ advocates are submitted that liberals may be on, but this is an individual choice.
The judges commented that the current pandemic was novel and there were no questions about individual perceptions.
