Lucknow: Central Investigation Bureau (CBI), who investigated the death of Mahant Narendra Giri, has decided to include complaints of cyber fraud submitted by Seer, just two weeks before alleged suicide, in the investigation, the top sources said.
Seer’s body was found hanging from the ceiling fan at the Mutt Baghambari place in Prayagraj on September 20.
On September 6, The Seer filed firs with Daraganj police, allegating that a fake Twitter account was created in his name.
The 18-member Special Investigation Team formed by the government has started the probe into cyber fraud before the CBI takes over.
Now, Mamahant’s signature in police complaints was used by the CBI to match them in a suicide note, recovering from his room where his body lay down.
In Fir, Giri accused that unknown people have created a fake Twitter account in its name and distributed the wrong information.
“I was told by my colleagues that I was active on Twitter.
But, I want to reaffirm that I have not made any account and unidentified people spread lies in my name,” The Seer said in his complaint to the Daraganj police.
A pine is registered against unknown people because of dishonesty, cheating with imitation and under information technology laws.
The source in Sit, said they searched for details about the real account holders of Twitter because this would provide vital instructions on those who harassed Giri.
The original FIR application sent at the Daraganj police station was removed from the note to check Seer’s signature.
