Ghaziabad: Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation (GMC) employee suffered an injury after a piece of ceiling fell on him as he sat at the Zonal Corporation office in Vijay Nagar on Thursday.
This building accommodates the GMC property tax collection center.
The condition of the building belongs to GMC, both the quarter staff or office, is in a sad state.
Naresh (54) who was the officer at GMC had just started working when he heard a loud voice.
“Before I could understand what had happened, the ceiling collapsed to me and for a few minutes I numb.
I lay on the buried ground under the rubble and bloody from my head,” he said, adding that I was taken for stitches.
On June 26, a similar incident had occurred in the same office but fortunately the office was closed at that time.
When asked, Kota Commissioner Mahendra Singh Tanwar said he was aware of the June 26 incident and they had identified several GMC buildings that require immediate attention.
“Rs 3 Crore has been approved through the repair work of the GMC head office and all five zonal offices will be carried out.
The amount has been approved and the work will begin soon,” he added.
