Chandigarh: Six Terror Module Operators who carry out a grenade attack on the Pathankot army camp and public places in the Punjab border district last November were arrested on Monday in the harsh action that traced the conspiracy to the Forbidden International Sikh Youth Federation (ISYF).
DGP V K Bhawra said the police team from Nawanshahr won six grenades, 9mm pistols, a .30 bore rifles, live bullets and magazines of those arrested, they were all native residents of Gurdaspur Regency.
The suspects were identified as Amandeep aka Lakhanpal Village, Gurwinder Singh aka Gindi and Parminder Kumar alias Rohit from Kharal, Rajinder Singh aka Malhi aka Nikku from Gunnupur, Harpreet Singh aka Dholki from Gotpokar and Raman Kumar from Ghazi.
The clothes have thrown a hand grenade near Pathankot’s Chakki Pull on November 11 and again outside Triveni Dwar from the Army sub-area on November 21.
DGP said the suspects had claimed to be in touch with Isyf (Rode) Lakhbir Singh Rode and his help Sukhmmetpal Singh aka Sukh Bhikhariwal and Sukhpreet aka Sukh.
“The entire cache of confiscated hand grenades, arms and ammunition was driven from across the international border by driving.
The defendant who was arrested was assigned to attack the targets identified, especially police and defense companies, other than religion,” Bhawra said.
The police also claimed to have confirmed the rode role in the murder of Shaurya Chakra Awardee Comrade Balwinder Singh in Bhikhiwind on October 16, 2020, and hoarded IED, RDX, ARMS, and ammunition in Place Jalandhar Gurmukh Singh relative.
Explosives and arms were confiscated in August last year.
Aude Bhikhariwal, who is currently nested in Tihar Jail, was involved in an attack on the Youth leader of Sena Shiv Mahajan Mahajan in Dhariwal on February 10, 2020.
He was deported from Dubai in December of the year.
Nawanshahr SSP Kanwardeep Kaur said the police registered FIR on January 7 under the Act Act who violated the law (prevention), the laws of explosives and arms acted in connection with the Pathankot attack.
