Ludhiana: Patient care services were beaten in a civil hospital, because nurses staff continued strikes on Friday.
However, at night, they called stirring after getting a guarantee of their demands from Deputy Chief of Minister O P Soni.
Chairman of the Nurse Association Manjeet Kaur said, “Forty-nine nurses staff protested in supporting their demands of parity, food, uniform allowances, the elimination of anomalies relating to the recommendation of the sixth payment commission, among others, we called us after a meeting with Deputy CM OP Soni, That says our demands will be fulfilled next week.
“Even when they broke down, contractual staff worked, so patient care services were not affected, Manjeet Kaur added.
Strikes, however, give patients a difficult time.
Neha, a resident of Giaspura, said, “I am pregnant and treated in a civil hospital.
On Friday, the service was beaten.
Doctors do not have staff when they see patients.
I have come on Monday too, but must return because of strikes and on the day Friday I have to wait long.
