Mumbai: Even as a negotiations between Tesla, US electric carmaker, and the central government seems to stretch, a Maharashtra minister has extended the company that invites to start operations in the state and has convinced all assistance.
Two other states, Telangana and West Bengal, also expressed interest in getting car makers to invest in their jurisdiction.
Water Resources Minister Jayant Patil wrote to the Tesla Elon Musk CEO on Twitter on Sunday, inviting him to establish a company factory in Maharashtra.
A few days ago, Musk replied to a request when Tesla would be launched in India.
“Still working on many challenges with the government,” said his message.
Patil answered Musk said, “Maharashtra is one of the most progressive countries in India.
We will give you all the necessary assistance from Maharashtra for you established in India.
We invite you to establish your Manarashtra factory in Maharashtra.” Because Tweet Musk, Telangana and West Bengal have also extended similar invitations.
Telangana is the first to seduce Musk.
Minister of Industry and Trade Telangana KT Rama wrote on Twitter, “Hey Elon, I am the Minister of Industry & Trade of the State of Telangana in India.
Will be happy to win Tesla in working through challenges in India / Telangana.
Our State is a champion in sustainability initiatives & Top Place Business Objectives in India.
“Minister of West Bengal MD Ghulam Rabbani Tweeted,” Drop Here, We in West Bengal Having Infra & Our Best Leader @MamataOfficial has gained a vision.
Bengal means business “.
Maharashtra has reached Tesla in the past too.
In October 2020, the Cabinet Minister Aaditya Thackeray and Subhash Desai had interacted with Tesla’s team and invited them to the country.
Maharashtra is one of several countries that launched electric vehicle policies that provide concessions to producers and consumers.
The state government has also made a policy decision to only buy electric vehicles for its use from now on.
Musk said in 2021 that Tesla planned to start manufacturing in India from 2022 but since then he has repeatedly complained about import duties in this country.
“I was told the import duty was very high (up to 100%), even for electric cars.
This will make our car unreachable,” he said.
