Patna: The number of flights operating at Jayaprakash International Airport will increase to 65, including eight for the celebration season and additional flights added on different routes under the winter schedule, which starts from Monday.
India-Patna Airport Authority released a schedule, which will remain effective until November 30.
All eight special Indigo flights began operations on Sunday and Monday intervention.
Of the 8 flights, each of them was to Mumbai, Bengaluru and Delhi until November 14 while one to Bengaluru and Delhi until November 15.
One flight between Patna and Hyderabad will suspend the operation on November 16.
Flights between Ahmedabad and Patna will operate until November 9, officials at Patna Airport, said two more flights will start operating from Patna to Chennai and Ahmedabad, respectively from 4 and 10 November.
Guwahati-Patna-Ahmedabad Indigo flight (6E-6573/6574) will land at Patna Airport at 19:25 and depart at 8pm while Spicejet flight between Patna and Chennai will land here at 90:40.
Flight operations under this winter schedule have increased by 47%, compared to the previous year’s figure.
In 2020 winter schedules, the airport handles 44 flights every day.
As a new schedule, the airline will operate 65 domestic flights on 13 different routes to Delhi, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Amritsar, Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai, Ranchi, Pune, Guwahati, Lucknow, Ahmedagar and Chandigarh.
A total of 23 flights operated between Patna and Delhi.
Indigo will operate a minimum of 32 flights, followed by Spicejet (13), go first (11), Air India (7) and Vistara (2).
