Patna: People will now be fined Rs 500 if their pets are found poop in the park, waterways or on the road.
The decision for this effect was taken at the Empowerment Committee meeting (ESC) Patna Municipal Corporation (PMC) on Tuesday.
Members ESC also approved a proposal to establish a land development committee led by the Mayor to maintain rent or asset allotment under the Regional Development Authority Patna and PMC.
ESC members on Tuesday approved eight agendas, including harvesting people if their pets were found to pollute public areas.
“Pet owners throw dirt in the water channel, park, and on the road.
This leads to water channel blockages and creates obstacles in the flow of water,” Read the statement issued by ESC.
The costs charged for garbage collection were also revised at the meeting.
New slabs include Cowshed and Rs 30 per animal will be charged a month, Rs 1,500 per month for the club and Rs 20 per vegetable seller for a month.
ESC also approved the selection of agencies to maintain maintenance of deluxe and public toilets under PMC.
This is also approved allotment of Rs 9 Crore for the water supply scheme.
NOD for the manufacture of two mechanical posts and two helped posts for the maintenance of 1,200 PMC vehicles are also provided.
Mechanics will be paid Rs 30,000 and Assistant Rs 20,000 per month.
The decision taken by the committee will now be submitted at the PMC Board meeting for final approval.
