Patna: The district government has banned the immersion of durga idols in Ganga and suggest the use of artificial ponds for that purpose.
Patna DM Chandrashekhar Singh and SSP Upendra Kumar Sharma, who held a meeting on Tuesday, asked for Puja organizers and people to follow the Covid protocol and defend social harmony during the 10-day celebration starting from October 7, unfair words will be held in every place and DJs also will not be allowed around the place of Puja.
Because idol immersion in Ganga is prohibited after the guidelines for the National Green Court, all SDO and SDO are asked to develop an artificial pool with light, medical and ambulance facilities.
They were also asked to expect judges and police personnel in artificial ponds.
“There will be no cultural functions and use of fireworks during the Puja.
The use of loudspeakers is permitted within the permitted vote limit.
However, the game of vulnerable songs and display of inappropriate slogans will not be permitted at Puja Pandal,” said DM.
The Ravan VADH program will be held in a simple way at Kalidas Rangalaya with direct Webcast facilities.
There will also be a ban on plying boats in all rivers in the Patna district during Puja.
DM says all puja pandal volunteers will be issued to identify the card.
Administration has asked the police for the intensity of the night patrol, especially in rural areas.
“Decisive action will be taken against anti-social elements and those who try to create problems during puja,” DM added.
