Patna gets 50 CNG buses, finally

Patna: Cm Nith Kumar on Saturday handed over 350 new ambulances to beneficiaries under the Mukhyamantri Gram Parifahan Yojana (MGPY) and also marked 50 CNG buses for Jalan Patna during the Transportation Department event held in front of Samvad Hall of CM Secretariat here , CM, by symbolic way, also submit a small replica of the ambulance to five MGPY recipients.
Speaking on that occasion, CM said 50 CNG buses would run far in reducing air pollution in the state capital and helping commuting every day.
In the ambulance scheme, Nitish said the maximum subsidy of RS 2 Lakh per recipient was provided for two beneficiaries in each block to buy Ambeng-Ambpy under MGPY.
“In the first phase, 350 ambulances have been submitted to beneficiaries.
At least 800 ambulances will be purchased in October this year.
There is a target to provide at least two ambulants in every state block this year,” Nitish told reporters after handing over ambulances benefit.
He said residents of rural areas were used to face difficulties in reaching hospitals in urban areas.
“Now, because the minimum of two ambulances is provided at each block, people may find the comfort of reaching hospitals in their closest cities,” he said.
A transportation department official said 50 CNG buses will operate on different routes on Patna.
CM also said strict action would be taken against officials involving illegal sand mining in the state.
Nitish said the state police and the department concerned had initiated an investigation into alleged government officials.
“All DMS and SPS have been given strict instructions to maintain the right vigilance in their respective districts,” he said.
About 20 government officials, including SPS, was recently moved for their alleged Nexus with sand mafia in the state.
