Patna: Malahi Malahi Pakri Dwellers, who are under the Patrak Nagar Police Station area in Patna, held a protest on Wednesday against the death of a Rajesh Thakur, a tea seller.
They alleged that this 36-year-old player suffered serious injuries at the Lathicharge police during the anti-encroachment drive on Tuesday and died in a private hospital where he was treated.
The protesters blocked the road for at least four hours and burned tires and bamboo.
Then, Patna conscious SDO, Naveen Kumar, and senior government officials rushed to the place after the blockade was appointed at 2pm.
Kumar claimed that there was no evidence that had not proved that Thakur had died because of the Lathicharge police on Tuesday.
“Given the accusations flattened to the police, Post-Mortem has been carried out.
After the report arrives, the cause of death will be clear,” Kumar said, adding that the Thakur family had been given Rs 20,000 for cremating his body.
According to the source, the area where the milling drive has been transferred to Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited.
There are several hutments there.
