Patna: Laparoscopic surgery will begin at PMCH

Patna: Laparoscopic surgery that has long been awaited at Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH) is likely to come true soon.
PMCH Inspector Dr.
I Sakur said the laparoscopic instrument was installed in the hospital surgery department.
“Without making a large incision on the skin, this surgical diagnostic procedure is very helpful in eliminating the gallbladder, attachments and hernias from the Abdominal region.
Because a large number of patients from all countries reach PMCH for diseases that require open operation, the laparoscopic method will help them,” said Dr.
Thakur.
Meanwhile, PMCH has also made around 5,000 iron tablets available for children who suffer from thalassemia and undergo treatment at the Pediatric Hospital unit.
Dr.
Thakur said following the instructions issued by Minister of Health Mangal Pandey and Medical Services Bihar Infrastructure Corporation Limited (BMSICL), these drugs were purchased for the benefit of the patient.
He added children who suffer from thalassemia treated through blood transfusions and drugs.
The non-availability of the elevator facility for thalassemia patients was taken to the notification of Minister Nith Kumar in the recent ‘Janata Darbar’ program.
Dr.
Thakur said the hospital government had urged BMSICL to ensure the earliest repair of lifts.
