Patna: The police will soon seek the help of the Department of Transportation to track the owner of 11 stolen cars and two recovered bicycles from the garage in Ghurdaur Road under the Rajiv Nagar police station in the state capital on July 21 after Patna and Vaishali attacks.
Rajiv Nagar Police Station Sho Saroj Kumar on Sunday said the vehicle was stolen from various districts in Bihar, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh and Jharkhand.
“We will seek the help of the State Transportation Department to track the owner,” he said.
Sho said the owner of the Rakesh Mishra garage was on arrest.
“He and his colleagues used to change the serial number of the stolen vehicle engine and chassis brought to the new garage and emboss number,” he said.
Kumar said some chassis and registration plate cut had been found in the garage.
“This is also being investigated how they correct the registration plate with a new number on a stolen vehicle,” Sho said.
He said the police knew about the garage while tracking the stolen SUV from Garaul in Vaishali two months ago.
“The SUV also recovered from the garage with a different registration number,” he added.
