Patna: Two young men died of a while accident allegedly read out their sports bikes on the four pathway highway near the Bhikhua under the Fatuha police station at the rural Patna on Sunday morning.
Police Station Fatuha Sho Manoj Kumar Singh said the deceased was identified as Ayush Saurabh (20) and Sanskar (19), both the residents of Mithapur on Patna.
He said at all six young men, including the duo, had reached a highway with three bikes around 8 in the morning.
“Everyone is friends.
They started a bicycle race with each other,” he said and added that Sanskar was riding one of the bicycles and ayush riding a pillion.
“Sanskar lost control on a bicycle because of high speed and collided with the cemented median strip.
Both died in place due to severe head injury,” he said.
Singh said that it was the impact of the helmet worn Sanskar was destroyed.
He said the bike also belonged to Sanskar.
“Ayush doesn’t wear a helmet.
His father is Block Panth Pancayati Raj,” Singh said.
He said the two bodies were sent for postmortem at NMCH.
He said the police tried to ascertain whether the youth had a valid SIM or not.
Sho said all six had left home after lying to their parents that they went to the water park in Fatuha, which was closed due to the limitation of covid-induced locking.
Singh said the statement of one of their friends, who was there, had been recorded in connection with the accident.
