PATNA: A mob attacked at least four police staff and freed up a murder accused by their custody in Lodipur village beneath the Punpun police station region in southern Patna on Thursday.
The police group that had staged the village had been pelted with rocks and attacked with wooden rods.
The police car was damaged by the Turks.
SHO of all Punpun police channel Kundan Kumar Singh said nine people were detained by the village such as attacking the police group.
“At 35-40 villagers were included in the assault.
Raids are about to detain them,” he explained.
Singh said helper sub-inspector Dhramendra Kumar Ram along with three constables — Rohit Kumar, Bharat Kumar and Bablu Kumar — were hurt in the assault.
“They’d staged the village to detain one Ramanand Manjhi, who’d murdered one Chote Ram of the identical village on October 8 final year,” that the SHP added.
He explained Manjhi was able to flee.
“Further police personnel are deployed in the village to keep order and law,” that the SHO added.
